As a fringe benefit for our esteemed readership, I'll be submitting a running diary of my trip to Vegas for March Madness next weekend. I'm heading west with none other than the mythic and mysterious gambler known only as Pete the Greek. Pete has been winning March Madness pools since he was 8, and getting banned from them since he was 13 (the age at which he won the same 300-man pool for the 4th time.) He'd be long barred from entering Vegas casinos if the powers that be could beat back their self-denial long enough to admit he actually exists. I'm here to tell you boys (and girl#1): He Does. I'll be posting some of Pete's "Upset Specials" prior to the games in question, so that the gaming enthusiasts among us can log-on to our favorite online betting houses and get in on the action.

On a far less interesting note, I'll also be posting updates of the kind of people we run into in a low-rent Vegas sports book the first weekend of a March Madness that has the makings of a classic. If anyone knows where I can get a Greg Kelser throwback jersey, let me know-posthaste.
